Privacy Policy

We built LeadLayer to work entirely inside your browser. No accounts, no servers, no data collection — ever.

TL;DR
LeadLayer collects zero personal data. Everything you save stays on your device only. We have no servers, no analytics, and no way to see your leads.

What we collect

LeadLayer collects nothing. The extension does not transmit any information to any server — including ours. There is no backend, no database, and no analytics pipeline of any kind.

All data you create — saved leads, notes, pipeline statuses, visit counts — is stored exclusively on your own device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data is private to your browser profile and is never synced, uploaded, or shared.

🔒
No data ever leaves your device. LeadLayer makes zero outbound network requests on your behalf.
02

Permissions explained

LeadLayer requests only the permissions strictly necessary to function. Here is exactly what each permission does and why it is needed:

storage
Saves your leads, notes, and statuses locally in chrome.storage.local. Data never leaves your device.
activeTab
Reads the URL and title of the tab you are currently viewing when you click "Save lead". Only activated by your explicit action — not used passively.
scripting
Injects the CRM overlay widget into pages you have already saved as leads, and extracts metadata (title, description, emails, phone numbers visible on the page) at save time.
<all_urls>
Required to detect when you revisit a saved domain on any website and display the overlay widget. Since leads can be any URL, the extension must be able to compare the current domain against your saved list on every page load.
03

Third-party services

LeadLayer uses no third-party services of any kind. There are no analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.), no crash reporting services, no advertising networks, and no external APIs called at runtime.

The extension loads no remote code. All logic is self-contained within the extension package you install from the Chrome Web Store.

04

Data you enter

Any information you type into LeadLayer — company names, notes, contact details detected on pages — is stored only in your local browser storage. It is never transmitted anywhere.

If you uninstall the extension, all stored data is permanently deleted from your device. There is no cloud backup, and no way to recover it after uninstallation.

05

Children's privacy

LeadLayer is a professional sales tool not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we collect no data at all, this policy applies equally to all users regardless of age.

06

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the extension handles data — for example, if we add an optional cloud sync feature in a future version — this Privacy Policy will be updated before that version is released, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the change.

Continued use of the extension after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
